SME Named ACEC Michigan’s 2024 Firm of the Year

SME recognized as ACEC Michigan 2024 Firm of the Year!

This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to ACEC, our fellow members, and the communities we serve. And – it is a fantastic way to kick-off the celebration of our 60th anniversary!

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan (ACEC/Michigan) recently presented the 2024 member “FIRM OF THE YEAR” award at the Engineering and Surveying Excellence Awards Gala held in Detroit on March 9, 2024.

The Firm of the Year award is the highest ACEC/Michigan honor bestowed and the only award program instituted to recognize ACEC/Michigan member firms for their leadership in professional practice and community service. Recognition is based on actions member firms take to progressively develop their management practices and for assuming leadership roles in community outreach activities and ACEC/Michigan programs that strengthen the profession for all members.

As SME begins our 60th year, we are proud of our dedicated team members’ support and involvement in ACEC/Michigan. SME has experienced first-hand the value that engagement brings not only to the professional growth of its team members, but also the professional advancement of our industry. ACEC’s unwavering dedication to advancing professional, business, and economic standards aligns with SME’s mission to build and revitalize our world. Over the years, SME has supported ACEC/Michigan and its objectives in a variety of ways, such as serving in key leadership positions; participating on committees working with new member firm recruitment, development and mentorship; and serving as liaisons with other organizations to active and committed participation in state and federal political processes. SME is committed to ACEC’s contributions to Michigan’s prosperity and welfare through the advancement of its member firms’ interests.

ACEC/Michigan is a business association of more than 100 independent private consulting engineering firms employing more than 8,000 people in Michigan. ACEC/Michigan member firms are managed by licensed profession engineers that use their knowledge and expertise to create superior engineering designs that improve Michigan’s infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for our residents.
