Kimberly L. Cottrell, PE, QEP, CM is a Senior Project Engineer in SME’s Indianapolis office. As a member of the environmental services group, she has extensive knowledge of environmental permitting and compliance requirements. Kim has 21 years of experience in Indiana air permitting. Her goal is to help clients understand and comply with numerous environmental regulatory obligations. She asks the questions that focus on what the client needs and designs compliance tools that will achieve their goals.

Kim is a registered Professional Engineer in Indiana and a Qualified Environmental Professional. She is also a Certified Manager. She holds a BS degree in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University. Kim serves as Programs Chair of the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA), participates in the Indiana and National Society of Professional Engineers as the MATHCOUNTS Coordinator, and is a member of the Central Indiana Society of Women Engineers.

In her spare time, Kim likes to mentor Girl Scouts on their leadership journeys. This includes leading the bright young minds of Troop 236 as well as training other adult volunteers. A relaxing evening for Kim is having a few friends over for a night of games.
