Location: Plymouth, Michigan

SME is seeking a regular, full-time customer service oriented Computer Help-Desk Specialist to join our busy Information Technology team.

Responsibilities for this position include:
•Provide technical support to users in an efficient and accurate manner using email, phone, and in-person support to end-users, including those in out-state offices.
•Provide support for various customized and third party applications.
•Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
•Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
•Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support.
•Ensure proper recording, documentation and closure of each issue/request.
•Utilize excellent customer service skills and exceed customers' expectations.
•Process procedure or documentation modifications or improvements.
•Create new instructional documentation as the needs arise.
•Maintain IT equipment inventory and purchase additional equipment.
•Configure new computers, tablets, desk phones and mobile phones for users.
•Capture and restore compute images.
•Install video conference systems.
•Troubleshoot video conference systems using email, phone and in-person support to end-users, including those in out-state offices.
•Train new hires in computer orientation.

Requirements for this position include:
•A minimum of a BS degree in Information Technology or related field.
•Entry level position.
•Experience with Microsoft Office 2016, Microsoft Windows 7; Microsoft Windows 10 a plus.
•Computer troubleshooting skills. Able to think outside of the box to resolve issues without a written process to follow.
•Ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines in a challenging work environment and work well as part of a team.
•PC experience in a networked environment is a plus.
•Regular travel is required to regional offices to provide in office support (expectation is 1 time per week or 1 time every other week, some travel will require an overnight stay to out-state locations).
•A good driving record is required.
