Our environmental practice serves a diverse clientele with a variety of services, and our staff is expected to be versatile and assume a variety of roles and responsibilities.

Serving as Senior Project Manager/Client Manager for Michigan, but primarily West Michigan environmental projects. Responsibilities for this position include:
• Identifying and securing clients and business/project opportunities alone and in support of other local, regional and corporate business development activities;
• Providing technical review and technical leadership for our Michigan, but primarily West Michigan environmental projects;
• Managing the environmental components of brownfield redevelopment projects;
• Identifying, securing, and managing brownfield grants, loans and other incentives, especially for projects and clients you will manager;
• Serving as a lead client manager;
• Maintaining project budgets and schedules;
• Effectively identifying, securing, and interfacing with clients;
• Understanding project economics, contracting, and liability management;
• Directing project teams effectively;
• Preparing successful proposals, negotiating professional service fees and contracts;
• Identifying and participating in professional and business organizations and other networking activities that will foster relationships with clients and potential clients;
• Participating effectively as an integral part of the environmental team to continually improve our capabilities, services, procedures and operations;
• Providing professional development and mentoring to further develop our team member’s capabilities;
• Maximizing project profitability through effective contract, project and liability management, including managing and adhering to project budgets and schedules;
• Assessing and responding to client needs and conducting yourself in a manner to build strong client relationships and a viable professional practice; and
• Collaborate with other SME service areas on multi-disciplinary projects.

Requirements for this position include:
• Demonstrable experience in project management; site investigation; data evaluation, validation and visualization; due diligence; due care evaluations; report preparation; interaction of environmental conditions and regulations with construction and development; brownfield incentive procurement and management; and working with owners and regulators to achieve and implement regulatory closures.
• Experience with mentoring and leading project teams.
• Candidates must be well versed in environmental regulations and applications.
• Demonstrated client maintenance capabilities and strong understanding of project economics, contracting, and liability management.
• Exceptional ability to synthesize data and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other team members and clients.
• Excellent problem solving skills and writing capabilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communicator and self-motivated.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience (preference will be given to candidates with experience in Environmental Consulting), 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training, and a MS in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Engineering.
