Jamie Bates, PE is the Regional Leader for SME’s Fort Wayne, Indiana office. She has extensive geotechnical engineering experience across Northern Indiana, Northwest Ohio, and Southern Michigan. She specializes in ground improvement techniques, pavement evaluation, and design. She is knowledgeable in shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, pavements, engineered fill, settlement, slope stability, and seismic design. Jamie is also experienced with soil and rock classifications and performing ASTM geotechnical laboratory testing procedures. Jamie assists clients by preparing competitive proposals specific to their needs and providing value engineering focused reports in a timely manner. She earned her BS degree in Civil Engineering from Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Indiana.
